Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 1, $20.172 to $23.779 (5 step range)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Admitting Reception Clerk is responsible for reception, admissions and directing patients/family to the proper services. This position reports to the Provincial Leader of Supportive Care with daily work duties supervised by the Supervisor of Admitting Reception or the Site Manager Supportive Care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Grade 12

Experience:

  • One (1) year customer service experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to type proficiently.
  • Ability to operate a computerized data entry system.
  • Ability to operate all types of office equipment.
  • Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
  • Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
  • Some Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a limited number of alternatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
