The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking team-oriented professional Anesthesiologists to join our dynamic and expanding Department of Anesthesiology in Regina.
The Department of Anesthesiology has an excellent complement of specialist Anesthesiologists with diverse interests. Successful candidates will join our team to provide comprehensive anesthesiology service to the patients of southern Saskatchewan.
Our services are shared between two sites. The Regina General Hospital is our trauma center representing all major surgical specialties, except transplant. Regina General Hospital Anesthesiologists provide full obstetric service. The Pasqua Hospital is a community hospital and referral center specializing in Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Urology.
Elective OR runs from 07:45 to 16:00hrs. Our goal for Regina is to routinely operate 18 surgical theatres. Capacity is managed to allow for reduced theatres during holiday periods, allowing physicians and staff greater vacation opportunities. Call is 1:5 to 1:6 depending on holiday requests.
The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Anesthesiology is a distributed training site for the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine with education of medical students, residents and other learners an expectation.
