The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Regina Area invites applications for the position of family medicine physician within the Central Health Network in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are looking to fill 1.0 FTE, the FTE can be split to a minimum of 0.5 FTE. The Central Health Network has three Community Health Centres – Meadow Primary Health Care Centre, Four Directions Community Health Centre, and Al Ritchie Heritage Community Health Center. Led by the SHA, the Network delivers primary healthcare services to Regina’s inner city neighbourhoods whom experience disproportionate health disparity, complex chronic medical and social health concerns, and barriers to access. The network has a high proportion of First Nations, Métis, and new Canadians. The Central Network seek full or part-time family medicines physicians to join their team.
The Centres are honored to work with elders and knowledge keepers to continue to evolve our services to better meet the needs of our patients. Among its offerings, the Center focuses on meeting clients’ unique healthcare needs, including general primary health care, chronic disease management, walk-in, and extended hours for urgent care. The Centres also provide clinical support to Nurse Practitioners who attend the rural locations of Regina Beach, Southey and Cupar, Saskatchewan and intermediate care services teams. The Centres practice in a shared cared model and offers EMR (Electronic Medical Records), an interdisciplinary team that includes nurse practitioners, clinical assistants, and access to other support services including Chronic disease management, home care, public health, counselling, phlebotomy and many other visiting providers.
The SHA is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.
The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Family Medicine has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina Department of Academic Family Medicine.
The candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan..
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff, management, and function well in a high-volume clinical environment with a commitment to provision of high-quality patient and family centered care.
Experience or interest in providing trauma-informed care, complex chronic disease management, addictions and supporting the medically and socially vulnerable are considered an asset. The successful applicant will work in a multidisciplinary care environment and show dedication to compassionate care. New graduates are welcome.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member.
