Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, CSPP - Operational Practice Support, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the Health Services model of care and principles of adult learning, in the provision of education, research, and quality client centered care for a defined group of clients and programs. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care through identified education programming. In collaboration with the Manager, the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge within designated programs in the SHA.

Experience

  • Experience developing/implementing/evaluating programs/resources
  • Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
  • 3 years experience in clinical area within the past 5 years

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

  • Lifting and transporting of clinical equipment is required

  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards and application of such
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to integrate clinical knowledge and experience into clinical practice
  • Demonstrated ability in program development, implementation and evaluation
  • Ability to be self directed and work relatively independently
  • Articulates theory and knowledge related to the priniciples of adult education
  • Ability to apply research to clinical practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
