Profile Description:

Reporting to the Director of Care, working with the management team and using regional supports of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, you will support the Director of Care to lead and sustain a strong team of care providers and ensure an ongoing culture of compassion, safety and continuous improvement.

As Nurse Manager, you will provide operational and clinical leadership to support and direct the resident / family centered team. You will be accountable for the coordination of programs, services, administration, education and enforcement of all policies/procedures and relevant legislation requirements. The Nurse Manager will ensure that residents' care and services are provided in accordance with Santa Maria's mission, vision and values.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a minimum of 3-5 years nursing management experience, ideally in a long-term care setting, but equivalent experience will be considered
  • applicable licensing with preference given to those with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan or the Registered Psychiatric Nursing Association of Saskatchewan
  • proven administrative, organizational and leadership skills, strong analytical and decision making skills, sound judgment and integrity
  • an aptitude for leading and working with a team from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • knowledge in applicable human resources functions and disciplines
  • excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, to build effective teams and to maintain relations, with demonstrated experience in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Available to be on-call (scheduled)
  • Intermediate level computer skills and aptitudes

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health related field
