Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 2, $22.201 to $26.109 (5 step range)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Under the direction of the Site Leader Oncology Pharmacy Services and reporting to the most responsible Senior Pharmacy Technician, the Pharmacy Assistant provides coordination and administrative services to support the Oncology Pharmacy Department in order to provide services to the patients and clients of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Grade 12

Experience:

  • 1 year experience working in a pharmacy setting

Skills:

  • Ability to follow established methods when performing duties.
  • Judgment and problem solving skills are such that problems are easily identified and solved by using established guidelines and methods.
  • Ability to verbally communicate clearly/effectively.
  • Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
  • Proactively creates and maintains effective workflow and communications to aid the workflow of the pharmacy department.
  • Human relations skills required to empathize with complaints and/or concerns regarding the program or services and establish rapport with patients, the public and other staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to type proficiently.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
