Job Description:

Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalists who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS.

Experience

  • Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset

Education

  • Completion of an accredited PA degree program recognized by PACCC

Licenses

  • Eligible for registration with CPSS (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan).
  • Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a PA; or
  • (May be asked to provide proof of meeting maintenance of certification)
  • Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the NCCPA.
  • Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC; or
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset
  • Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support), is an asset

  • HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
  • Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
