Job Description: As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Recreation Therapist is responsible for assessment of the client's leisure lifestyle and maintain and/or enhancing functional level through functional intervention, leisure education and recreation participation. The incumbent must have an understanding of the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual impacts of Therapeutic Recreation and how these relate to overall client health, diseases and disabilities. The RT must take initiative to plan and incorporate programs, and to collaborate with others within the facility/community. The incumbent will adhere to the established Standards of Practice for Therapeutic Recreation in the Health Authority.
