The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a team-oriented professional Rheumatologist to join our dynamic and expanding Department of Medicine.
The specialist would join the Saskatchewan Health Authority - Regina Area on a fee-of-service basis. Currently Regina has 5 Rheumatologists who provide services to the community in an independent office based setting with admitting and consulting privileges in the hospital setting. The clinical activities would include practicing outpatient rheumatology and participating in rheumatology call schedule. Call would be shared with your colleagues within the division and a stipend for availability for unassigned patients is provided for that service.
The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. The Department of Medicine has distributed training sites in Saskatoon and Regina.
Successful candidates will hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Rheumatology. Applicants will be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) to practice in Saskatchewan.
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Medicine and Division of Rheumatology in the Regina Area and will be appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.
