GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

As a member of the Care Services Division management team and a clinical leader in the department, the Site Manager, Outpatient Services is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre (ABCC)/Saskatoon Cancer Centre (SCC).

The Site Manager of Outpatient Services monitors compliance with nursing practice standards to ensure that high quality nursing care is provided to cancer patients. The Site Manager works in a collaborative manner with the other managers and supervisor within Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services (STOPS), other departments within the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA), Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), as well as the medical staff to ensure that quality patient care is provided.

The Site Manager provides program leadership and direction for the staff in outpatient services while supporting and actualizing the goals of the division of Care Services. This responsibility includes but is not limited to the following: Medical Oncology Nursing, Malignant Hematology Nursing, Gyne Oncology Nursing (Regina only), Extender Clinic Nursing, Clinic Support Staff, specialized & advanced oncology services such as advanced practice nursing, pain & symptom management, triage nursing and liaising with SHA inpatient units in providing service to oncology patients.

The Site Manager ensures the work environment enables and supports excellence in nursing practice and promotes high quality of work life and safety for department staff.

The Site Manager will be expected to act in the absence of the Site Manager of Systemic Therapy & Support and/or the Provincial Manager.

The Site Manager may be expected to act in the absence of the Director.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (MSN or MHA preferred)
  • An equivalent combination of applicable education, training, and experience
  • Five years nursing experience (oncology preferred)
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
  • Licensed with College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing Canada (CON(C)) will be considered an asset

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, business and interpersonal proficiency.
  • Ability to motivate and coach employees, teams and departments to achieve Agency goals and department objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with many individuals and groups including staff, students, unions and the general public.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proven skills in leadership, management, interpersonal, verbal, written and electronic communication including the ability to manage time, change and conflict.
  • Advanced informatics skills
