Job Description: Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides formal supervision (clinical/ professional and/or administrative) to other employees and students in a formal clinical practicum. As a senior practitioner, acts as a resource for other professionals and the community at large for mental health and addiction.

Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of a variety of mental health disorders and addiction and harm reduction strategies required to enable clients to sustain stability. Broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies is essential. Experience working with mental health and addiction community outreach and competence in delivering mental health and addiction crisis interventions. Knowledge of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for individuals with mental health and addiction problems in a community based setting, including, but not limited to: assessment, triage, treatment, case management. Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentation and formulate evidence based intervention. Cultural competency skills. Knowledge of Recovery philosophy. Ability to work independently and in a self-motivated manner, ability to respond under pressure.
