Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176

Job Description: Responsible to provide first contact and intake services to clients affected by substance use. This will include screening and assessment activities, delivering informative dynamic group workshops, developing community awareness and involvement, case and file management, crisis management. This position works collaboratively with other professional and community groups to provide comprehensive services to a specific client population.

  • Chemical Dependency Diploma

Competencies

  • Basic - Crisis management skills
  • Basic - Counseling skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge in the SHA, community resources and applicable programming
  • Ability to work independently
