Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) - Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pediatrics within the College of Medicine is seeking a full-time General Pediatric specialist for a 12-month locum term. The start date is flexible ranging from October 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. There is also the option to negotiate a shorter term or focus solely on inpatient work. The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to providing exemplary health care for children, ensuring excellence in training of future pediatrics health care providers, undertaking meritorious research, and advocating for the health and well-being of children and youth.

The position will include inpatient services provided at Jim Pattison Children's Hospital (JPCH), as well as outpatient services. It will also include 10 weeks of inpatient clinical teaching unit (CTU) at JPCH which is a teaching hospital, and 4-5 general pediatrics clinics per week when not on CTU.

Location of practice: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

The successful applicants will provide clinical services as members of the Department of Pediatrics and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the SHA. Appointment with the university will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level.

The new JPCH offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for children, mothers and families from across our province. Centrally located on the University of Saskatchewan campus, our new children's hospital offers neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services include labour and delivery, antepartum and postpartum care. The 176-bed facility provides the highest quality of care and places Saskatchewan at the forefront of research and innovation.

Job Qualifications

Candidates in consideration will hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
