Job Description

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) - Saskatoon and the University of Saskatchewan, The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, Saskatoon Area is seeking a full-time Interventional Cardiologist with Structural Cardiology expertise.

The Division of Cardiology is primarily located at Royal University Hospital and is evolving and expanding its opportunities. The successful applicant will join the interventional cardiology group and will provide clinical and academic services. Two cardiac catheterization laboratories provide inpatient and outpatient cardiac catheterization services to patients located in Saskatoon and Central and Northern Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be in the process of completing or have completed a fellowship in Structural Cardiology. Clinical work will include inpatient, outpatient cardiology and access to cardiac catheterization. Responsibilities also include participation in undergraduate, postgraduate medical education teaching and participation in collaborative research.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine with subsequent certification in Cardiology or equivalent specialty certification and have successfully completed fellowship training in structural cardiology. The candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate must have completed fellowship training in interventional cardiology. Preference will be given to those who have proven success in securing peer reviewed operating grants, a superior publication record and have demonstrated ability for collaborative work at their current work site and national society committees.
