Job Description: Under the direction of the manager, the clinical coordinator will be recruited in the division of pediatric rheumatology and work with the multi-disciplinary team to improve the health outcomes of children with chronic rheumatologic illnesses. The nursing duties would include the provision of comprehensive care to children and adolescents with chronic rheumatic disease, participate in pre/post clinic preparation, communicating with patients and families, including needs-based patient education (injection teaching, medication teaching), and assist in shared decision making with patients and families, other allied health professionals and physicians. The nurse would follow up and coordinate investigations through electronic medical records (EMR) system/ email /phone to coordinate rheumatology patients' care.

Experience

  • 3 years experience specifically in the acute clinical area required
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Five (5) years acute care nursing experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable

Other Information

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Previous experience in acute care pediatric nursing is preferred
