Job Description: The Clinical Coordinators, under the direction of the Manager, is primarily accountable for the system navigation and coordination of patient flow on the nursing unit and medical surveillance unit (MSU). The MSU is a closed observation unit for patients not requiring ICU, but are more acute than a general medicine patient. The MSU provides an increased level of skilled nursing care to those patients requiring frequent monitoring, observation, physiological monitoring, support, and treatment. These skills will include cardiac monitoring and the application of telemetry. The Coordinators have an ongoing awareness and involvement in workflow of the unit. Duties include bed management, discharge planning, advocating for the patient/family, identifying supply and equipment needs and assisting with staff scheduling.

Experience

  • 5 years acute care nursing experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
