Job Description: Assisting with coordination of client/family care with hospital department/services and other health care agencies. Assisting in establishing and maintaining standards of care through education by: assessment of learning needs acting as a clinical resource, promotion of client education concepts planning, implementation and evaluation of unit orientation, in-service and other educational programming participating in quality improvement activities and committee work as appropriate. Assisting with interdepartmental and facility interfaces to promote effective delivery of client care in Saskatoon Health Region.

Experience:
Previous experience in education or adult teaching


Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)

Competencies

  • Basic - Computer skills
  • Advanced - Communication skills
  • Communication skills to transfer knowledge/skills

Knowledge and Abilities:
-An understanding of models of nursing care is an asset
-Knowledge in nursing process
-Knowledge in principles of adult learning

Other education and training:
CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
Master of Nursing, Adult or Continuing Education is an asset
Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)

  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
