Job Description: The TB Nurse Clinician is part of a provincial program and multidisciplinary team working in collaboration with relevant agencies, health care professionals, First Nations partners, and Provincial Health Authority partners. The TB Nurse Clinician is an expert clinical nurse with a focus on leading best evidence care to prevent transmission and reduce the progression of Tuberculosis (TB) in Saskatchewan. The Nurse Clinician integrates experience, advanced level skills and knowledge of TB disease, TB infection and transmission, applying nursing theory, population health promotion strategies, public health principles, education, clinical care, and disease management strategies in communities. This position requires a high level of skill in collaborative consultation with managers, supervisors, nurse clinicians, acute care, public health nurses, physicians, community health workers, agencies, community stakeholders, and governmental departments to provide a comprehensive approach to communicable disease reduction, adherence, and management support for clients with TB.

Experience

  • Experience with TB prevention and treatment, including contact investigation
  • Experience in an acute care setting would be considered an asset
  • Two years recent experience working in Public health/Communicable Disease

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • OH&S Safety for Supervisors Training
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Masters degree in related field is an asset
