Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Sleep Disorders Centre, the Patient Educator is responsible for providing assessment and education to the patients and families of the Sleep Disorders Centre. This include, but is not limited to reviewing patient charts, educating and counseling patients on the function and use of respiratory sleep equipment, problem solving and follow up if issues with use arise. And occasionally giving meds and performing TLR.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • 1 year exp. teaching/counselling related to patient need and discharge plan.
  • 1 year of experience with CPAP, BiPAP or ventilated patients

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
