You will work closely with health system partners, government sectors, academic institutions, and patient partners to improve the quality of health and healthcare throughout Saskatchewan.

We are looking for a researcher who brings strong research experience—preferably in health-related fields—and is ready to embrace quality improvement science as part of their role. The ideal candidate is not only comfortable with research but also enthusiastic about learning and applying quality improvement methods, which are core to HQC's work. This role also requires someone who feels comfortable in front of the room, able to facilitate meetings and present findings or tailored information to diverse audiences, and effectively contribute to knowledge translation.

  • Lead, coach, and facilitate internal teams and external collaborations in the design, implementation, and reporting of research and evaluation projects.
  • Lead the design and implementation of quality improvement projects, ensuring research methods align with improvement goals.
  • Uphold data quality standards, develop research plans, and enhance HQC's data quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct evidence reviews and create summaries for decision-making.
  • Communicate research findings effectively, using knowledge translation methods such as presentations, reports, and visual displays of data.
  • Build capacity in data literacy by coaching and training external stakeholders on measurement design, health data use, and other key concepts.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external partners to drive research and improvement initiatives forward.

Ideal Candidate:

You have:

  • Solid understanding of research principles and protocols, with expertise in specialized areas like survey design, time-series analysis, qualitative methods, and more.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SAS, R), database programs (e.g., Excel), and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Teams).
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement science and its tools, with an eagerness to apply them to enhance healthcare practices.
  • Experience with knowledge translation—converting research findings into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presenting research findings in clear, impactful ways, whether to academic, clinical, or public audiences.
  • Proven ability to work with health data and conduct policy evaluations that inform decisions.
