Job Description: The aim of KidsFirst is to ensure vulnerable children receive support for healthy growth and development prenatally to age three. Components of the program include home visiting, early learning and specialized counselling. Services are available on a voluntary basis to families. The KidsFirst MSW Senior will provide professional counselling to children, families, couples, individuals and groups who are receiving supportive services of the KidsFirst program. Counselling services are offered in non-traditional settings with flexible work hours. The KidsFirst MSW Senior will provide administrative and clinical supervision to the KidsFirst counselling team. The KidsFirst MSW Senior supports the KidsFirst staff in collaboration with the other members of the KidsFirst leadership team. The KidsFirst MSW Seniors duties also include in-depth interviewing and assessment of potential KidsFirst families, facilitation of referrals to other community supports, and education and training of other KidsFirst staff. The KidsFirst MSW Senior will provide professional consultation and collaborative support as a member of the KidsFirst interdisciplinary staff team.The KidsFirst MSW Senior is an active member of KidsFirst partnerships with both community organizations and other SHA departments within the Early Years portfolio.
