Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Speech Language Pathologist - Masters $43.309 to $52.958

Job Description: REPORTING DIRECTLY TO THE SENIOR SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, THE SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING DIAGNOSTIC, THERAPEUTIC AND CONSULTATIVE SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITH SPEECH LANGUAGE AND SWALLOWING DISORDERS. THE SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST WORKS TOGETHER WITH OTHER STAFF AS PART OF AN INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM. THE SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST MAY ALSO WORK INDEPENDENTLY PROVIDING ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT, AND CONSULTATION THROUGHOUT CENTRAL AND NORTHERN SASKATCHEWAN. THE SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST CONSULTS EXTENSIVELY WITH PARENTS AND OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS ON EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES IN THE HOME AND OTHER PROGRAMS THE CHILD PARTICIPATES IN.

Education

  • Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered Speech-Language Pathologist (RSLP)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Ability to work with clients and their families in highly emotional situations
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Experience working with children individually and in small groups is an asset
  • Pediatric experience is an asset
