Job Description: Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
  • Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)
