Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910

Job Description: In collaboration with physicians and the Primary Care Team, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care services to several communities. This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; conducting community needs assessments and participating in evaluative projects. The incumbent reports to the Director of Primary Care.

Education

  • Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner (RN(NP))

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in research processes and program evaluation
  • Knowledge in principles/practices/concepts of primary health care
  • Knowledge in community development and facilitation strategies
  • Knowledge in conflict resolution techniques
