Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Maternal & Children's Clinical Integration, the Maternal and Children's Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children's Provincial Programs' education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Experience

  • 1 year previous experience in adult education
  • 1 year experience in program/resource development
  • 3 years of recent experience in perinatal/obs and/or pediatric nursing

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Instructor trainer certification preferred eg) FHS, NRP, PEARs, PALS
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
  • Master of Nursing is acceptable
  • Eligibility to pursue or current instructor certification is required
  • Master of Health Administration is acceptable

  • Demonstrated skill in developing adult education program and resources
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on open communication.
  • Support staff & physicians related to maternal/child care.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships based on accountability.
  • Ability to support the creation of clinical & standard work, educational modules
  • The ability to conduct needs assessments & develop & deliver presentations.
  • Ability to coach/guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks
  • Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position
  • Development, delivery & evaluation of the maternal &/or pediatric programs.
  • Ability to facilitate groups to achieve deliverables
  • Ability able to build and maintain relationships based on trust.
  • Knowledge in applicable regulatory bodies, policies and procedure
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Ability to implement, utilize & evaluate best practice models of client care
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and consultative manner
