Regular Full-Time Position - (1.0 FTE)

This position is at the L05 level with an hourly pay range of $33.93 - $42.93

Reporting to the Manager of Medical Imaging, the incumbent works collaboratively with the Medical Imaging leadership team to oversee the day to day functionality of Medical Imaging Administrative Assistants. The incumbent provides leadership, training and support for all Administrative Assistant functions and develops and improves processes to optimize workflow ensuring patients receive excellent patient care when accessing Medical Imaging services. The incumbent is expected to perform the role of a Medical Imaging Administrative Assistant when necessary.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Excellent Knowledge of, and proficiency in, medical office procedures;
  • Excellent Knowledge of computerized scheduling: HIS and RIS, Meditech Expanse Scheduling and Registration processes;
  • Excellent Knowledge of Medical Imaging Terminology (anatomy, physiology, pathology);
  • Excellent Knowledge of Medical Imaging exams and preparations;
  • Excellent ability to multitask in a busy office setting;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to keep current with changes and aid in implementation of accepted change;
  • Strong ability to train and orientate other health care professionals;
  • Excellent professionalism, with strong ability to converse with and assist agitated Patients and/or family/supports, as well as Physicians;
  • Reliability, self-motivation and ability to work independently and as a team, with limited supervision;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products;
  • Cross-Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity.

The successful candidate will have a Medical Office Assistant Diploma/Certificate, Medical Terminology Certificate, minimum (3) three years Medical Office experience, minimum (2) two years Medical Imaging experience and certification in CPR (or ability to become certified). Knowledge of Picture Archiving Communication System/digital environment would all be considered assets for this position. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
