This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time positions working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

Who we are

Hearing Services is the public audiology service for the Yukon Territory. Our team strives to provide inclusive, accessible hearing health services to all Yukoners, from newborns to older adults. We are seeking an enthusiastic, resourceful audiologist to join our dynamic team of innovators to provide progressive, accessible hearing health care.

Your role

Reporting to the Manager of Hearing Services, you will deliver professional audiological services to Yukon residents. You will be responsible for performing adult and pediatric diagnostic hearing assessments, selecting and dispensing hearing aids, aural rehabilitation, public education, and providing in-services to healthcare professionals.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Master’s Degree in Audiology from a Canadian university, or an equivalent degree from a recognized international program, per ACSLPA criteria;
  • Current ACSLPA registration, or eligibility to register;
  • Recent experience in conducting full pediatric diagnostic audiometric assessments and/or pediatric hearing aid fittings;
  • Recent experience conducting diagnostic audiometric assessments and interpretation;
  • Experience with specialized testing, such as: auditory brainstem response testing, tinnitus measurement and management, vestibular assessments, and central auditory screening will be considered an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Developing strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to influence collaborative goals;
  • Ability to build strong rapport with pediatric clients and care-givers;
  • Ability to research current literature and integrate new-evidenced based principles into audiology practice, as appropriate;
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to solve complex problems;
  • Strong understanding of ethics and confidentiality in practice.

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

  • A copy of your Master’s Degree in Audiology or Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) from a recognized university;
  • Current registration with a Provincial Audiology Canadian regulatory body;
  • Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector;
  • TB screening.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent;
  • WHMIS 2015 (within one month of hire)

Job requirements

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

  • Periodic travel to Yukon communities.
