This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time Clinical Educator - Registered Nurse position working 75 bi-weekly.

In order to be considered for this position; you must be a REGISTERED NURSE with current registration with a licensing authority in Canada.

It posting will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

This opportunity

The goal of this position, as is for all the Continuing Care team, is to create a feeling of home and belonging for all who live in Yukon Continuing Care facilities by being responsive to the uniqueness of each resident.

Clinical Educators are responsible for creating, coordinating, facilitating and delivering clinical training to all division staff. They coordinate and deliver professional development courses and provide training and education, designed in both in-person, as well as online formats to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in government long term care homes and home care. They lead orientation of new hires and identify the resources required to meet training objectives and provide recommendations to Continuing Care management.

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

TB screening, security clearance with vulnerable sector (issued within 6 months of hire); CPR level C (completed within the past 30 months), WHMIS 2015, a valid class 5 driver's licence or equivalent; registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (required prior to hire).

Job requirements

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

Regular lifting up to 20 lbs, potential travel both in and outside the territory by both ground and air, potential exposure to pets, second hand smoke, warm temperatures and increased exposure to infectious organisms and exposure to latex products.
