This posting will be used to fill 1 full-time term (anticipatory permanent) position working 75 bi-weekly. It will establish a 12 month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

The Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care. We deliver medical interventions, treatments, and critical care in every corner of the Yukon. Your role

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Technical Operations, the Commander Emergency Response Communication Center is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Yukon EMS territorial communication center. This includes all requests for land and air operations, special operation deployment, and interactions with the other secondary safety answering points in the Yukon. This position oversees both the Yukon EMS Paramedic Specialists Program and provides leadership to front line Emergency Response Communication Officers, working collaboratively with the Commander Group.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Completion of a prehospital program such as PCP/ACP
  • Recent experience in a supervisory role that has provided supervision, performance management, and performance evaluations
  • Recent experience providing analysis and support on multi-stakeholder software, communication technologies, or projects/programs such as a computer assisted dispatch system, dispatch triage and/or scheduling software.
  • Experience dispatching EMS, Fire or Police
  • Experience providing pre-hospital care and/or community outreach

  • Experience with quality assurance/improvement programs and developing or updating policies and procedures.

  • Valid Class 5 drivers license (Class 4 is an asset)
