Director - Information Services - Regular Full-time

Regular Full Time Position - (1.0 FTE)

This position has a yearly salary range of $139,640.00 to $174,550.00

Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the Director, Information Services supports and optimizes our hospitals' service delivery and performance through leadership and oversight of health information management, technology, systems, clinical informatics, and privacy/access to information. This is a key senior leadership that is not only responsible for our strategic information services and operational support, but also for advancing critical priorities that strengthen our technology infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Broad knowledge of information systems technology and its application to a hospital environment.
• Knowledge of framework underlying YHC's records management program, including statutory and legislative requirements related to privacy and management of health information.
• Excellent knowledge of management methods and techniques including human and financial management.
• Excellent knowledge of information management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of records management operations.
• Knowledge of research practices and sources.
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills.

The successful candidate will have a Degree in Health Informatics, Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences (Health Technology) or similar; A minimum of eight (8) years experience working in a Healthcare Information Systems environment; and 5 to 10 years experience directly managing an Information Systems department in a healthcare setting, preferably with an Acute Care organization. An equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience may be considered. Masters in Health Informatics, Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences (Health Technology) or similar are desired.
