The Extended Benefits and Pharmaceutical Programs team at Insured Health Services oversees the smooth operation of Yukon's publicly funded drug, dental, optical, medical equipment and supplies programs. As a cohesive and skilled team, we leverage clinical evidence to collaborate on policy development and decision-making. Your role

As the Formulary Manager, you will report to the Manager - Extended Benefits and Pharmaceutical Programs and will work with diverse and complex pharmaceutical issues. Licensed as a pharmacist to practice in the Yukon, taking an evidence-based approach, you will advise on how to address diverse and complex pharmaceutical issues. The incumbent as a pharmaceutical subject matter expert will act in a professional and consultative capacity to develop, evaluate, and implement federal and territorial initiatives that affect program management and drug plan sustainability.

In this position, you will act as a subject matter expert with respect to pharmacy information systems including the Yukon Online Drug Formulary and the future enhancements to the existing pharmacy module used by Insured Health Services. You will assist with the provision, maintenance and enhancement of the formulary, including the exception drug application approval process. You will also assist in policy development, coverage assessments, and pricing contract agreements with drug manufacturers.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Eligible for registration as a Pharmacist in the Yukon
  • Considerable experience in community pharmacy practices and proficiency in the Kroll pharmacy application
  • Working knowledge of drug formulary working groups and Pan-Canadian drug assessment processes
  • Experience participating collaboratively on committees or working groups

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

  • The majority of this position requires the incumbent to access a computer and spend periods of time on telephone conference calls.
  • Travel associated with Pan-Canadian working groups or conferences may be required.
