This posting will be used to fill NINE (9) AOC - Reinforcement positions, which are auxiliary positions with guaranteed full-time hours of work and associated leave and benefits. All positions are fulltime, working 75 hours bi-weekly.
It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill anticipatory perm, term & Auxiliary Reinforcement positions.

Your role
Long Term Care provide resident centered care in a way that creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live in Yukon Continuing Care facilities through responsiveness to the uniqueness of each Resident. The Registered Nurse uses evidence-based practices, partnerships and innovation.
Wind River Palliative Care/Hospice provides residents with modern facilities, resources and all the support that comes from a highly collaborative teamwork environment. Wind River Hospice House is looking for LPNs to join our health care team providing high quality end-of-life care to Yukoners and their families. Hospice care accepts death as an inevitable part of living and respects a person's right to die with grace and dignity. Wind River Hospice House is located at Whistle Bend Place long-term care home in Whitehorse. It provides 24-hour end-of-life care to Yukoners in a home-like setting. Wind River Hospice House has 8 beds for stays of approximately 3 months or less, and 4 beds for short respite stays of 2-4 weeks focusing on providing a safe environment that places value on quality of life and comfort.

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance, CPR Level C (facilities), CPR Level C (Home Care), Food Safe (completed within the last 2 years) WHIMIS 2015, and Yukon LPN registration with Medication Administration upon hire.
