Reporting to the Director of Health System Transformation, the Manager, Health System Transformation plays a critical role in supporting Yukon Hospital Corporation's (YHC) participation in health system transformation (HST). This position is responsible for leading engagement and change management efforts, managing YHC's involvement in several HST-related projects, and serving as a liaison between YHC and its partners to ensure collaboration, negotiation, and alignment in achieving project objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance YHC's interests while fostering collaboration with partners, including government, First Nations, and other stakeholders, to develop governance structures, strategies, and frameworks that shape the future of healthcare delivery in Yukon.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

1 - Engagement and Change Management

  • Lead engagement and communication efforts within the hospital to support staff and stakeholders through the transformation process.
  • Represent YHC in broader public, community, First Nations, and rights-holder engagement efforts to ensure alignment and transparency in HST initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to foster a culture of collaboration and readiness for change

2 - Project Leadership

  • Serve as the YHC lead on several HST-related projects, ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined, achievable, and aligned with YHC's strategic priorities.
  • Act as a liaison between YHC and HST partners to negotiate project objectives, resolve issues, and deliver outcomes that reflect shared goals.
  • Support the development of policies, governance frameworks, and regulations for the new health authority.
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic plans, including human resources, cultural frameworks, and other foundational documents for the health authority.

3 - Project Leadership

  • Serve as the YHC lead on several HST-related projects, ensuring that project objectives are clearly defined, achievable, and aligned with YHC's strategic priorities.
  • Act as a liaison between YHC and HST partners to negotiate project objectives, resolve issues, and deliver outcomes that reflect shared goals.
  • Support the development of policies, governance frameworks, and regulations for the new health authority.
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic plans, including human resources, cultural frameworks, and other foundational documents for the health authority.

4 - Stakeholder Collaboration and Diplomacy

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners, balancing YHC's priorities with broader transformation goals.
  • Act a liaison in discussions with partners, finding common ground to achieve successful project delivery.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure YHC's interests are represented while fostering collaborative and solution-oriented approaches.

5 - Strategic Contribution

  • Ensure alignment of HST initiatives with YHC's mission, values, and operational needs.
  • Support executive leaders in decision-making by providing clear analysis and recommendations related to HST projects.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and interdependencies within transformation projects to optimize YHC's involvement and outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public administration, business, or a related field. A Master's degree is an asset. A minimum of 5 years of project management, stakeholder engagement, or leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Experience in public sector or healthcare administration is preferred.
