This posting is for one (1) permanent fulltime position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

Your role

Long-Term Care Occupational Therapists provide services to residents through our Long-Term Care Homes. They work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to meet resident/client needs and maintain quality of life. We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide clinical care services for residents/clients (Long-Term Care) with physical, cognitive, social and/or emotional impairments. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing direct care and consultations to enhance, maintain, improve, or restore the ability to participate in meaningful self-care, leisure, and productive activities. The Occupational Therapist plans, directs, delivers, and evaluates services through direct assessment, interventions, consultations, and assignment of task components to Rehabilitation Assistants. This position also involves providing training to Continuing Care staff.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Current registration or eligible for registration with a Canadian Occupational Therapy regulatory body;
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist providing assessments and treatments in a community environment and a long-term care setting is an asset
  • Experience supervising support staff is an asset

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

Current registration with a Canadian Occupational Therapy regulatory body; valid Class 5 driver's license; WHMIS 2015; RCMP security clearance with Vulnerable Sector; CPR level C (issued within the last 6 months); and TB screening
