Reporting to the Supervisor and working collaboratively with the Victim Services Workers, this position engages with victims of crime who request information or services, manages client files and provides administrative support, and acts as a key member of the front-line team providing victim support and services in a manner that is seamless, and client focused. This position may conduct client intake and provide initial client service and may provide back up to additional administrative roles within the team.

Essential Qualifications:

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Coursework in social work, psychology, criminology, or a related field.
  • Experience providing trauma-informed care and culturally sensitive service
  • Experience linking/referring clients to other service providers and/or working in collaboration with service partners in support of clients
  • Experience documenting services provided and maintaining files in a confidential service.
  • Experience prioritizing tasks within a crisis-oriented team environment.

Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:

  • Knowledge of Yukon First Nation history and resistance
  • Ability to provide initial client contact through phone, written and in person service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide compassionate service and advocate for victims effectively.
  • Ability to effectively support the client services team by organizing and managing client files and requests, and effectively sharing information with the appropriate team members
  • Ability to provide culturally humble service and commitment to building individual cultural competencies.
  • Ability to provide service for vulnerable populations
  • Familiarity with local resources and services for victims of crime and the criminal justice system would be considered an asset.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Security Clearance including Vulnerable Sector
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel throughout the Territory
